On September 26th, I had the pleasure of presenting Where Fact Meets Fiction at the Perth Union Library. Participants heard the benefits of historical fiction and learned how fictitious characters are woven into real events to create an engaging narrative. They were introduced to two characters from Finding Home. Sarah, a servant orphaned by cholera in London in 1869 desperately seeks her family. Richard, the disgraced son of an eastern Ontario sawmill owner must redeem himself, then seek his own path. Their journeys are brought together by a group of Home Children. Following the presentation, a lively discussion ensued. Many thanks to Emily Fournier for organizing this opportunity.
